The School of Prince

DJ lynnée denise was invited to co-produce an event she titled, The School of Prince, with the Los Angeles, California Public Library's ALOUD program. With this invitation to curate one of the most inspiring artists in the history of Black music and in American music in general, she invited Greg Tate, Tisa Bryant and Ernest Hardy to share reflections on the life of Prince and she offered musical selections and discussed key periods in Prince's career. The four artists gathered to a packed theater and paid tribute and explored the forty-year career of Prince. Drawing on original work, music clips and the emerging field of Prince Studies, this cultural work considered the impact of Prince on literary culture and beyond.
